Jyenu – Raw Forest Honey
Our Jyenu (honey) is a redolent gift of the Western Ghats. Jyenu is collected by traditional tribal experts, using age-old methods. Truly the king among honeys, this unique wild Nilambur grade honey has been proven to be one of a kind in scent, taste and goodness.
Wild Honey!
Capturing the wild sweet-sour tastes of the forests of Sahyadri mountains. This is the secret nectar stored by queen bees of the valleys and mountainous folds of the Nilambur forests, within rock pits and tree trunks.
Harvested in traditional sustainable ways by the Thenor 'Jyenu' Kurumbar tribe. Wild honey isn't a single taste — the 'Perum then', that tastes of wildflowers; the medicinal 'Chenu then' collected by the tiny bees; 'naru then' that carries the flavours of cardamom flowers; the slightly bitter 'karin then'; the wondrously sweet-sour 'pullin then' that brings the tastes of gooseberry and wild sour berries; the rare white honey; and the 'piran then' believed to have healing properties.
